As usual, a long release gets
a long review, a short release gets a shorter
review. Dmsp2 took less than 10 minutes. It
was originally supposed to be a bit longer,
but compiling problems cut it short. As it is,
it's good for a quick splash of enjoyment. The
level is good looking, with some nice architecture
in places and a good small layout. The theme
is your typical Quake2 warehouse, but this one
has alot more crates. Not a bad thing though,
the crates make it a little different. Lighting
is good, with some nice contrasts in places.
The fight is fairly simple, most of your challenge
coming from a bunch of Gladiators. There really
should have been a fly boss in the last big
area before you depart - it's a huge outdoor
section which would have been perfect. But your
last enemies are instead a couple of lowly Gunners.
I look forward to Dave's future work, a little
longer and tougher and he could create some
awesome levels.
